Printmaking, means of magical expression

A wooden board, metal, noble, soft to the touch, is an invitation.

An invitation like ... a white page.

But it is also, for the care and secrets contained in his work, a difficult monologue.

We must learn before daring. The hardest part of learning is not the art, not the exact dose of acid, or with the burin carving, but the hand is in perfect harmony and agreement with the "idea".

The idea and feeling govern.

This agreement between the hand, the instrument of work, the thought seems so trivial to describe, explain. The print is then silently working product. The silence is imposed against a rare phenomenon: the materialization of the virtual idea or desired. It is perhaps this is what fascinates me: the engraving exists only on paper, ie later. It is the end product of a process invisible to others, you will not see the traces in the wood or passages by acid or selecting colors or drawing thought inverted, or the struggle with the wood to achieve as desired, or deep vacuum and crude copper observation. All these intermediate stages of the work, will seal the pact of silence between the paper and the artist. A loving, passionate, intimate memory in search of an expression.

It is then that in those thirty seconds of passage under the press, summarizing all hours of attention and effort, and show us whether they were justified or not. As not to be moved, glad, angry, grieve, distressed or exasperated even compared to the final product, even under wet stamped on the press.

That time is sacred, unique, non-transferable, magical, for recorder

Probably unapproachable, intangible and even sterile who has not lived and has not vibrated waiting for the image to appear behind the paper in the press.

It is the fruit of a silent encounter that has a lot to say.
